Legal
Terms and Conditions
Last updated 30 September 2026. These terms apply when you use Kaidoku, including Kaidoku AI Agent and analysis pipelines. They are not a substitute for legal advice tailored to your institution.
1. Agreement
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of Kaidoku, including the website at kaidoku.net, Kaidoku AI Agent (Copilot), analysis tools and pipelines, documentation, credits, and related services (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account, clicking to accept these Terms, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by them. If you use Kaidoku on behalf of an institution, you represent that you have authority to bind that institution, and “you” includes that institution.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who we are
Kaidoku is operated from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Questions about these Terms: info@kaidoku.com or our contact page.
3. The Service
Kaidoku is a browser-based bioinformatics platform. You may upload sequence and related research files, describe analysis goals in plain language, run curated tools and pipelines (for example quality control, assembly, variant calling, RNA-Seq, metagenomics, BLAST, and phylogenetics), and view or download results.
We may add, change, or withdraw features, models, tools, credit grants, and compute capacity. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, a particular analysis runtime, or that a given job will succeed.
4. Research use only
The Service is provided for research, education, and method development. It is not a medical device, not a diagnostic product, and not a substitute for licensed clinical, veterinary, or public-health judgement.
Do not rely on Kaidoku outputs alone for patient care, treatment decisions, regulatory submissions that require clinically validated pipelines, or any use that requires certified diagnostic software unless we have a separate written agreement that expressly covers that use.
You are responsible for validating methods, parameters, reference databases, and results for your scientific purpose, and for complying with ethics approvals, material-transfer agreements, and data-use restrictions that apply to your samples and datasets.
5. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms, pose a security or abuse risk, or remain inactive for an extended period, after notice where it is reasonable to give notice.
6. Credits, plans, and payment
Some features consume credits or require a paid plan. Posted pricing, included credits, and institutional quotes may change. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable unless we say otherwise, and expire according to the plan or grant under which they were issued.
Complimentary or promotional credits (including signup grants) may be limited, revoked for abuse, or adjusted. Failed jobs may be refunded at our discretion according to product rules in effect at the time.
If you purchase a subscription or credits, you authorise the charges described at checkout. Taxes, if any, are your responsibility unless stated otherwise.
7. Your data and files
You retain ownership of files and sequences you upload and of analysis outputs generated from them, subject to the rights of third parties (for example reference genomes or public databases) and to these Terms.
You grant Kaidoku a limited licence to host, copy, process, transmit, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you—including staging files, running tools, storing results, generating summaries, and providing support.
Do not upload data you are not allowed to process on a cloud platform, including (unless we have a written institutional agreement covering it) protected health information, data subject to export-control restrictions you cannot meet, or sequences you do not have permission to analyse.
We use third-party infrastructure (for example hosting, object storage, and databases). You should not treat the Service as a long-term archive; download results you need to keep.
8. AI Agent
Kaidoku AI Agent uses large language models and automated workflows to suggest analyses, parameters, and interpretations. Suggestions can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Tool and pipeline results depend on your inputs, reference data, third-party services (such as NCBI BLAST), and compute limits.
You remain responsible for reviewing plans before you confirm them, for the scientific interpretation of outputs, and for any publication or downstream use of results.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) probe, scan, or attack the Service except through coordinated disclosure we invite; (b) interfere with other users’ jobs or shared infrastructure; (c) reverse engineer the Service except as permitted by law; (d) resell access without our written consent; (e) upload malware; (f) use the Service to develop or enhance biological weapons or other prohibited weapons; (g) submit content that is unlawful or that infringes others’ rights; or (h) circumvent credit, rate, or access controls.
We may rate-limit, queue, or cancel jobs that threaten stability or fair use.
10. Third-party services
Parts of an analysis may call external services (for example NCBI BLAST) or use public databases under their own terms. Those services can be slow, unavailable, or change without notice. Kaidoku is not responsible for third-party downtime, content, or licence terms.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, branding, documentation, agent prompts, software, and curated workflows are owned by Kaidoku or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer that ownership to you.
Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.
12. Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of results, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not warrant that analyses will complete within a given time, that host tools or sandbox environments will match a local workstation, or that NCBI or other remote databases will return results.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kaidoku and its directors, employees, and suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, failed experiments, delayed publications, or replacement compute, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the three months before the claim, or (b) twenty United States dollars (USD 20), except where liability cannot be limited under applicable law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
14. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Kaidoku against claims, damages, and reasonable legal costs arising from your data, your use of the Service, your publications or downstream decisions, or your breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our wilful misconduct.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If a change is material, we will try to provide reasonable notice (for example by email or an in-product notice).
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Dar es Salaam have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any jurisdiction to protect the Service or our intellectual property.
